September 15, 1947 – August 13, 2025
Danny Ray Rollins, age 77, of Iberia formerly of Dixon, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones and entered the gates of Heaven and into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
He was born on his family farm in Brinktown, on September 15, 1947, son of the late Edwin Buell "Bates" and Harriett Ann (Osborn) Rollins. On May 17, 1969, Danny was united in marriage to Alta Maureen Parker, who survives at their home.
Danny retired from Alltel after 29 years as construction supervisor. He was especially proud to have served his country. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1966 and was a field wireman with the 84th Artillery's 6th Battalion and was attached to the 173rd Airborne Division in Vietnam. He saw combat in many areas in the Central Highlands such as An Khe, Pleiku, and Dak To. Danny was a lifetime member of the Crocker VFW.
A lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, Danny enjoyed watching the games with his son and cheering on his teams through countless seasons. He treasured time spent with his loving wife and his son Travis, who was also his best friend. He delighted in giving his great-grandchildren rides on his scooter, creating memories filled with joy and laughter.
In addition to his loving wife, Maureen Rollins, he is also survived by his son, Travis (Tiffany) Rollins of Iberia; grandchildren, Brinna Rollins (Jordan Russell) of Iberia, Laney (Brock) Twehus of Van Cleve, Harper Rollins (Trevor) of Iberia; Lakayela Parmeley of Iberia, and Landon (Sarah) Parmeley of Vienna; great-grandchildren, Parker, Cash, Koe and Banks; siblings, Dean (Judy) Rollins of Dixon, Ernie (Melody) Rollins of Dixon, and Patsy Rollins of Dixon; sister-in-law, Joanne Rollins; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buell "Bates" and Harriett Rollins; two brothers, Larry Rollins and Dale Rollins, and sister-in-law, Sharon Rollins.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with a Memorial Service at 12 (noon), on Saturday, August 23, at First Baptist Church of Dixon with Dean Waters officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be held in Wheeler Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Dixon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
