David "Barney" Barnett, age 37, of Brumley, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at his home. He was born in Neodesha, Kansas, on December 1, 1977, son of Dwight Wayne and Karen Kay (Luttrell) Barnett. On June 21, 2003, in Brumley, David married Kelly Colleen Byrd, who survives at the home.

David enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Kelly, he is also survived by two children, Dylan Barnett and Ty Barnett both of the home; his mother, Karen Barnett of Brumley; two sisters, Angie Luttrell and husband Harold of Iberia and Sarah Bashore and husband Brad of Jefferson City; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Jean Barnett of Iberia; cousin, Bruce Luttrell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Barnett.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Stan Way will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the David Barnett Memorial Fund.
