David Ray Davenport, age 64, of Brumley, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2009, at St. John's Hospital in Lebanon. He was born in Brumley on August 22, 1944, son of Virgil and Louevenia (Reinhart) Davenport. On March 1, 1963, in Tuscumbia, David married Thelma Johnston, who survives.
David worked most of his life at Stanton Manufacturing in Lake Ozark and was a member of Mt. Union Church of Christ near Brumley.
He is also survived by his mother; three children, Jeffrey Davenport and wife Jackie of Iberia, Randy Davenport and wife Kelly of Brumley, and Sheila Cordry and husband Bob Pecor of Thayer; eight grandchildren, Joshua Davenport and wife April of Brumley, Dusti Johnson and husband Jed of Brumley, LouAnna Davenport of Brumely, Emilie Davenport of Brumley, Jeffrey Davenport and wife Teri of Iberia, Candra Davenport of Iberia, Christopher Cordry of Thayer, and Matthew Cordry of Tuscumbia; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Johnson of Brumley; two brothers, Richard Davenport of Brumley and Steve Davenport of Salina, KS; one sister Jane Schwegler of Waynesville; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 1, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Jerry McDonald will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday April 30, at the funeral home.
