David Earp, age 86, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Iberia on January 22, 1927, son of the late James and Bertha (Ponder) Earp. On August 3, 1958, in Crocker, David married Alice Marie Mattoon, who survives at the home.
David served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a carpenter and constructed several homes and businesses around central Missouri.
David was a member of the American Legion Post 105 and the First Assembly of God Church of Iberia. He was a fantastic husband, father, and a friend to many.
He is also survived by two daughters, Cindy Stollings and husband Ron of Eldon and Kristie Drace and husband Chuck of Iberia; five grandchildren, Matt Stollings, Steven Stollings, both of Eldon, Jared Drace, Rachel Drace, and Caleb Drace, all of Iberia; one sister, Veta Whitaker of Blue Springs; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, infant brother, Freddie Earp, Claude Earp, George Earp, Phillip Earp, and Lester Earp; and two sisters, Mae Davenport and Ruby Jones.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at the First Assembly of God Church in Iberia. Pastor Freddie Earp and Pastor Chip Sanders will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Iberia Cemetery.
