David Loren Humphrey, age 76, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. He was born in Miller County on February 17, 1944, son of the late Wilford Loren and Ina Ruth (Holeyfield) Humphrey.
David was employed with the Union for 30 years and auctioneered at various sales. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, calf roping, and team roping at rodeos. David was a member of New Salem Church. The family is thankful to the staff at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center for making his stay at the nursing home filled with love and care.
He is survived by his children, Bruce Maylee (Sherrie), Dale Maylee (Carla), Ruthie Nelson (Don), Lisa Rauba, and Dana Teague (Dan); 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Kathy Humphrey; seven siblings, Janette Campbell, Cathy Winfrey, Tom Humphrey, Peggy Marso, Vicki Nelson, Jim Humphrey, and Will Humphrey; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ricky Lee Nelson; three sisters, Betty Schmidt, Joyce Ray, and JoAnn Belk; and two grandsons, BJ Maylee and Dalton Maylee.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., with a celebration of life at 2 p.m., on Sunday, November 15, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Jim Humphrey officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Little Angels Cemetery near Iberia.
