David Dwayne Rowden, age 71, of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at his home.  He was born on August 14, 1954, son of the late Delmo Dwayne "Wayne" and Juanita (Vance) Rowden.

He is survived by two sons, David Rowden II and Steven Rowden; two grandsons, Payne Rowden and Reed Rowden; brother, Richard Rowden and wife Patti; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Juanita Rowden; brother, Leonard "Lenny" Rowden; and his sister, Lorraine "Sissy" Rowden.

David retired from the United States Air Force in 1993 after 20 years of honorable service, earning the rank of Technical Sergeant. He had a distinguished military career and built lifelong friendships during his time in the service.

David never knew a stranger, taking great pleasure in visiting people and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  David was an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for rabbit hunting and raising his beagles. Throughout the years, he was a great friend and neighbor and will forever have a place in the heart of many.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, October 29, at Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley with Rick Russell officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
