Delcie Chloe Lawson, age 87, of Brumley, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, at her home.  She was born on February 19, 1938, daughter of the late Fred and Parthena (Luttrell) Witt.  On August 3, 1956, Delcie was united in marriage to James Myrel Lawson, who survives at their home.

Delcie was known for her devotion and unconditional love for her family, especially her grandchildren.  Her home was filled with warmth and laughter, where every member felt cherished and loved.  She enjoyed sitting at her kitchen table awaiting her grandkids to come for a visit.

In addition to her loving husband, James Myrel Lawson, she is also survived by four children, Randy Lawson, Linda (Doug) Baker, Christy (Rick) Davis, and Tresa (Greg) Boles; 20 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jim Lawson; great-grandson, Thomas James Robinett; and four siblings Dorlis Witt, Donald Witt, Dorsie Huddleston, and Daisey Duncan.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a memorial service at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Paul Colvin officiating.  Inurnment will be held at a later date.
