Delphine Emma (Kirkweg) Toebben, age 81, of Jefferson City, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She was born in St. Elizabeth on October 18, 1944, daughter of the late William Joseph and Mary Henrietta (Borgmeyer) Kirkweg. On February 8, 1964, in Taos, Delphine was united in marriage to Louis Anton Toebben, who survives at their home.

Delphine was a proud graduate of St. Elizabeth R-IV High School. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, especially at their river lot, where many joyful memories were made together. Delphine was passionate about crafting and found great enjoyment in painting on wood cutouts, working with ceramics, sewing dresses and doll clothes, and decorating cakes. She also loved fishing and looked forward to celebrating Christmas each year, making it a special occasion for those she loved. Delphine was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos.

In addition to her husband of 62 years, Louis Toebben, she is also survived by her children, Julie Peters of Lohman, Troy (Barb) Toebben of Loose Creek, Angele Vogel of Bonnots Mill, and Tanya (Kevin) Harvey of Pierpont; 12 grandchildren, Paige (Caleb) Cooper, Griffin (Sean) Toebben, Lucas Toebben, Heather (Mike) Beeler, Andrew J. Peters, Veronica Toebben, Katrina Toebben, Karl Toebben, Bethany (Chase) Barbarick, Logan (Kaitlyn) Vogel, Billy Harvey, and Mackenzie Harvey; five great-grandchildren, Kailey Peters, Tripp Beeler, Coen Beeler, Clay Barbarick, and Madison Jo Barbarick; two siblings, Alfred Kirkweg and Dolores Bax; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Kirkweg; her son, Douglas Toebben; son-in-law, Roger Vogel; eight siblings, Cornie Kirkweg, Clarence Kirkweg, Eleanor Edwards, Rosalie Hentges, Alvera Holliday, Norbert Kirkweg, Rita Braun, and Alice Patten; and her father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Veronica Toebben.

A rosary and prayer service will be held at 4 p.m., with a visitation following from 4:30 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, May 6, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos with Fr. Mark Porterfield officiating. Interment will be held in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery
