Dewey F. Green, age 84, of Tuscumbia formerly of Capps, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013, at Maries Manor in Vienna. He was born in St. Albans, Missouri on July 7, 1929, son of the late Elmer and Tina (Barton) Green. On August 13, 1977, in Meta, Dewey married Shirley Marie Cruse, who survives at the home.
Dewey was an avid fisherman and a lover of Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He is also survived by two daughters, Cathi Schmieg and husband Brian of Fults, Illinois and Janet Hayes and husband Bob of Linn; four step-children, Cheryl Ruble and husband Gary of Fenton, Richard Hale of Olive Branch, Illinois, Cathy Marriott of Jefferson City, and Dawn Hale of Warrensburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnn Gushwa and husband Ron of Marion, Ohio and Marilyn Mauzy and husband Bob of Holts Summit; and one brother, Marvin Green and wife Connie of Cahokia, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Floyd, and Donald; two sisters, Mabel and Mildred; one step-daughter, Debbie Luebbering; and one great-grandson, Gavin Stephens.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth. Bro. Aaron Sutton will officiate. Interment will be in Capps Cemetery near St. Elizabeth.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, at the funeral home.
