IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane Mary
Bax
April 8, 1959 – February 25, 2025
Diane Mary Bax, age 65, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at home. She was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City on April 8, 1959, daughter of the late Henry Paul and Christine Josephine (Dubbert) Bax.
Diane grew up on her family farm outside of St. Anthony and was a 1977 graduate of St. Elizabeth R-IV. Despite her learning disability, she did not let that prevent her from pushing through life. She learned to drive and held a job for 43 years. She loved the attention she received from her family and co-workers for her tiny stature. They lovingly referred to her as half-pint, which always put a smile on her face. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed watching Kinley and Logan play their favorite sports. She was their biggest cheerleader! One of the joys Diane loved most was being a constant staple in the lives and childhood memories of her great-nephew and niece, Logan and Kinley Seel. She cherished her dog, Izzie, traveling, seeing the countryside, and spending time with her family and friends. Diane had a passion for collecting angels throughout her life and if anyone earned their wings, she certainly did!
Diane was a sweetheart, who will be remembered for her kind heart and warm smile, which endeared her to everyone she met. Her dedication to her work and her community was evident in her years of service at both St. Elizabeth Care Center and Iberia R-V. Diane loved children and would often volunteer her time working at Vacation Bible School. She was a faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
She is survived by one sister, Debbie Hill; two brothers, Daniel (Doris) Bax and Larry Bax; beloved nieces and nephews, Danielle (Jeremy) Seel and their children, Logan and Kinley, Arron (Reyna) Hill and daughter, Alma, Rodney (Mindy) Bax and their daughters, Paige, Christine, and Rachel; along with other nieces and nephews; dear friends, Darlene and Darrell Pemberton, and Carol and Jerry Kliethermes, and numerous family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bernie Bax who was killed in action during Vietnam; sister, Henrietta Bax; and brother-in-law, John Hill, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 1, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating. Interment will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Diane Bax Memorial Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
