Obituary

Dolores A. Holtmeyer, age 72, of St. Anthony, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Osage Bend on May 13, 1937, daughter of Frank H. and Mathilda M. (Twehaus) Veit. After her mother's death, Dolores was raised by her aunt and uncle, Rudolph and Josephine Veit. Her father later married Annie Veit. On June 23, 1956, in Meta, Dolores married Ignatius Henry "Stub" Holtmeyer, who preceded her in death on November 10, 2000.

Dolores graduated from Fatima High School. She was a homemaker and a cook at St. Elizabeth High School for ten years. She was a member of the St. Anthony Ladies Sodality, St. Anthony Sunshine Gals, and the St. Anthony Senior Citizens. She volunteered as a CCD Teacher in St. Anthony for many years and was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

She is survived by four sons, William "Willie" Holtmeyer and Roxane of Jefferson City, Robert Holtmeyer and wife Beth of Belle, Richard Holtmeyer and wife Kristie of St. Anthony, and David Holtmeyer and wife Rose of St. Anthony; one daughter, Mathilda Jaegers and husband Terry of Russelville; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Veit and wife Arlene of Palmyra and Joe Veit of Holts Summit; and two sister-in-laws, Lillian Veit of Wardsville and Patricia Veit of Independence.

She was also preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, at the St. Anthony Parish Hall with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
