Don W. Allen, age 59, of Eldon, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, near Taos. He was born in Tuscumbia on January 25, 1954, son of the late Estal and Gertie (Jenkins) Allen. On June 22, 1974, in St. Anthony, Don married Marie Goeller, who survives at the home.

Don was raised in Iberia and later moved to Eldon, where he was employed as a truck driver for Opies Transport since 1989. He enjoyed wood working, hunting, fishing, and farming. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eldon.

He is also survived by two children, Kenneth William Allen of Lebanon, and Julie Marie (Allen) Carr and husband Michael of Cleveland, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Michael William Carr, Stephanie Jeanmarie Carr, and Paul Kenneth Carr all of Cleveland, Tennessee; six brothers and sisters, Thomas George Allen, Goldie Ann Block and husband William, Steve Allen, Jimmy Dean Allen, June Kay Pulford and husband Michael, and Mark Jim Allen; and many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Darrell Wayne Allen in 1962 and Estal Ed Allen in 2006; and two sisters, Gertrude Pearl Summers in 2008 and Mary Jane Jensen in 2011.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Msgr. Donald Lammers will officiate. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, March 27, at St. Anthony Parish Hall.
