Donald A. Bax, age 53, of St. Elizabeth, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Tuscumbia on March 25, 1957, son of Norbert Xavier and Martha Lee (Tappehorn) Bax. On June 16, 1979, in Brumley, Donald married Debra Alice Howser, who survives at the home.
Donald worked as a truck driver for Cole County Concrete and Wieberg Ready Mix.
He is also survived by two sons, Brad Bax and Tyler Bax both of St. Elizabeth; three daughters, Carla George and husband Aaron of Crocker, Kelly Huey and husband Jeremy of Crocker, and Kayla Bax of St. Elizabeth; ten grandchildren, Jacob Bax, Isaac George, Rylee George, Trenton George, Alex Huey, Zane Huey, Addison Huey, Zoie Huey, Mackenzie Bax, and Paetyn Bax; mother, Martha Lee Bax; one brother, Darrell Bax of St. Elizabeth; and five sisters, Diane Otto and husband Harold of Wardsville, Darlene Rush and husband Danny of Tuscumbia, Sharon Wilde and husband Henry of St. Elizabeth, Carol Buechter and husband Stephen of Wardsville, and Brenda Bax of St. Elizabeth.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norbert Bax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 21, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth. Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte will officiate. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Sunday, June 20, at the St. Elizabeth Community Center.
