Donald Jarrett, age 80, of Iberia, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, August 4, 2023, at his home.  He was born in Iberia on June 2, 1943, son of the late Lewis and Fleeta Lucille (Watkins) Jarrett.  On December 27, 1969, at Humphreys Creek Christian Church, Donald was united in marriage to Pamela Pendleton, who survives at their home.

Donald wore many hats throughout his life.  He started his working career as a barber in St. Elizabeth and J&M Magic Razor and was later employed as the Miller County Assessor from 1988 until his retirement in 2000.  Donald was a life-long farmer who had an unwavering work ethic and proudly tended the farmland on his family Century Farm.  He shared his love for the farm with his family, especially his grandchildren, who he cherished.  Donald served on the Iberia School Board and the Farm Services Board.

Donald was a humble man and the definition of kindness who touched and enriched many lives in so many ways.  Donald was a faithful member of the Iberia Christian Church.

In addition to his wife, Pam, he is also survived by three children, Sarah (Jerry) Bax, Derrick (Lynnette) Jarrett, and Monica (Randy) Cain; six grandchildren, Ethan Bax, Landon Bax, Kendal Bax, Dawson Jarrett, Russell Aden, Sarah Tabor, Mackinze Tabor, Austin Tabor, Hailey Cain, and Reagan Cain; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Rylan, Sage, Gracelyn, Hadley, Rosie, and Keaton; and numerous family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Jarrett, father and mother-in-law, John and Rosemary Pendleton, and special friend, Ralph Riemensnider.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, at Iberia First Christian Church.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, at Iberia First Christian Church with Bro. Stan Way officiating.  Interment will be held in Jarrett Cemetery near Iberia.
