Donald W. (George) McLaughlin, age 62, of Iberia, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Miller County on April 4, 1944, son of Forest and Delores McLaughlin.
He was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy F. Pendleton of the home; one daughter, Julie Christie McLaughlin; four stepchildren, Rusty Payne and wife, Dana of Harrisville, Beth Davis of Iberia, Kimberly Rollins and husband, Troy of Dixon, and Mitchell Pendleton and wife, Billye of Iberia; eight step grandchildren, Courtney, Tyler, Jessica, Cynthia, Roxanna, Emrick, Brittney, and Jessie; one brother, Tom McLaughlin and wife, Doris; two sisters, Linda and Gayla; three special friends, Howard and Wanda Clark and Jim Kenworthy; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his foster parents, L. and Rosene George; and one brother, James.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Higbie officiating.
