Donald Lee Visser, age 79, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born in Springfield, Illinois, on November 27, 1941, son of the late Ernest and Estelle (Drewing) Visser. On July 3, 1996, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Donald was united in marriage to Phyllis Irene Wilson, who survives at their home.

Donald had a career spanning over 20 years as a dump truck driver. He enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, Gunsmoke, listening to gospel songs, and his dogs, Duke and Juliet. Donald was a faithful member and trustee of Crossroads Baptist Church in Ulman.

In addition to his wife, Phyllis Visser, he is also survived by eight children, Donnie Visser (Samantha), Sam Visser (Diane), PeeWee Visser (Janell), Dale Visser, Wayne Visser (Chris), Bob Visser, Glen Visser (Maret), and William Visser; stepson, John Wickham; stepdaughter, Angel Hornback (John); 32 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Brockes; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ellene Welsh, and two granddaughters, Lindsey Visser and Kaci Visser.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Thursday, July 29, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home with Bro. David Visser and Bob Lilly officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
