Obituary

Donna J. (Dubbert) Scheulen, age 67, of Meta, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017, at SSM St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City due to complications from diabetes. She was born in St. Louis on September 19, 1950, daughter of Cletus and Evelyn (Bode) Dubbert. She grew up in Meta and graduated from Fatima High School in 1968.

She was married to Daniel Scheulen on July 27, 1968, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. Donna and Danny had a son, Ben Scheulen, on October 18, 1975. Their lives were enriched by Ben and they had many happy memories of camping, traveling, attending Ben's sporting events and they were so proud of all his personal and professional accomplishments. Ben and his wife Kara further blessed Donna with the births of grandson, Drew, and granddaughter, Elise. Donna also gave birth to a daughter, Mary Danielle in 1988, however she was stillborn.

Donna worked for the State of Missouri for nearly 50 years. She started her career with the Department of Revenue in 1969 and retired from the Department in December of 2001. Immediately following her retirement, she went to work for the Missouri House of Representatives where she served as a Legislative Assistant to Representatives Philip Willoughby, Judy Baker, Chris Kelly, and was currently serving in that position for Representative Kip Kendrick. Donna thoroughly enjoyed her career and excelled at helping constituents resolve problems and finding answers to their questions.

Survivors include: her husband, Daniel Scheulen; her son, Ben Scheulen and his wife Kara of Meta, her grandson Drew Scheulen and granddaughter Elise Scheulen of Meta; her mother, Evelyn Bode Dubbert of Jefferson City; four siblings, Rose Dubbert Friederich (husband Greg) of Eureka; Patrick Dubbert (wife Marsha), Kenneth Dubbert and Nancy Dubbert (Paul Hoelscher), all of Jefferson City.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cletus Dubbert, and daughter Mary Danielle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Jeremy Secrist officiating. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, at the church.
