Donna Hendricks, age 79, of Meta, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia.  She was born in Meta on December 20, 1942, daughter of the late Henry "Cotton" and Emma Louise (Bax) Tweehaus.  On September 17, 1960, in Meta, Donna was united in marriage to Louis Hendricks, who preceded her in death on January 9, 2014.

In addition to working for Empire Gas, Ottenheimer, and selling Avon, Donna had a rewarding career as a homemaker, raising her three daughters and was a devoted wife of 53 years.  Donna always showed a great interest in her daughters' school activities and loved spending time with her girls.    She enjoyed sewing, cooking for her family, and had a special place in her heart for her dogs.  She was a "mama' to many with an unconditional love for her family, especially her grandchildren.  Donna was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kristin (Scott) Hickman of Meta, Karla (Dale) Buechter of Meta, and Kimberly (Robert) Peters of Bonnots Mill; five grandchildren, Deidra Buechter, Austin Buechter, Olivia Buechter, Korra Hickman and Stephen Hickman; two great-grandchildren, Jaden Hickman and Breyer Welschmeyer; sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Lorene, Gertie, and Nancy; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Jean, father and mother-in law, Eugene and Veronica Hendricks; brothers-in-law, Carney Surface, Jr., David Hendricks, Delmar Hagenhoff, and Tom Gragert.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth with Fr. Christopher Aubuchon officiating.  Interment will be held in Red Cemetery near Dixon.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children.
