Donna Kay Rush

Donna Kay Rush, age 62, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Boone Hospital in Columbia. She was born in Tuscumbia on December 15, 1963, daughter of the late LaRue and Rosetta (Gardner) Rush.

Donna began her career as a dedicated teacher and later principal, inspiring countless students with her passion for education. She retired after over 30 years of commitment as an educator.

Donna’s Christian faith guided her throughout her life and brought her comfort and strength during difficult times. She took great pride in her role as “Nana” to Rosie, cherishing every moment spent with her granddaughter and always making sure she felt loved and supported. She was a devoted member of the Eldon Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her mother, Rosetta Rush; daughter, Keisha Jarrett and husband Dawson; cherished granddaughter, Rosie Jarrett; sister, Judy Rush Connell and husband Chris of Eldon; brother, Danny Rush and wife Darlene of Tuscumbia; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, LaRue Rush; aunts and uncles, Robert Rush, Gerald (Ottolene) Rush, Marvin (Margaret) Rush, Judy Rush, and Phyllis Rush; grandparents, Roy (Milda) Rush and Virgil (Cleo) Gardner; and her cousin, Chesney Rush.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, January 7, at the Eldon Church of the Nazarene, 1024 E. Lawson, Avenue, Eldon, Missouri.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, at the Eldon Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jerry Frye officiating. Interment will be held in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Chesney Rush Memorial.
