Donny Dean Whittle, age 69, of Brumley, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at his home. He was born in Iberia on August 11, 1953, son of the late Harold and Ruby (DeVore) Whittle. On August 27, 1977, at the Brumley Christian Church, Donny was united in marriage to Mary Luan Plemmons, who preceded him in death on October 5, 2021.

With his larger-than-life personality, Donny never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to others. He had a talent for working on cars and a passion for fishing. As a proud father and grandfather, Donny had a special place in his heart for his close-knit family and took great pride in all the milestones they accomplished throughout their lives.

Donny possessed a strong work ethic and was employed with MoDOT for 38 years before retiring. He was a member of the Hickory Hill Masonic Lodge and was baptized and a member of the Brumley Christian Church.

He is survived by his son, Ryan (Amy Patterson) Whittle; daughter, Lyndsey (Cole) Wilson; two granddaughters, Maci Steen and Abigail Herx; four grandsons, Tanner Trinklein, Mason Whittle, Cole Herx, and Blake Herx; two sisters, Connie (Jimmie) Wickham and Christy Schulte; one brother, Gary Wayne Whittle; brothers-in-law, Wilbert "Dub" Plemmons and James (Delores) Plemmons; sisters-in-law, Sue (Gary) Fancher, Patty (Doug) Keeth, Pennie Plemmons, and Patsy Plemmons; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Luan Whittle, he was also preceded in death by four brothers-in-law, Phillip Plemmons, Richard Plemmons, Mike Plemmons, and Paul Schulte; sister-in-law, Peggy Eads; and nephew, Kyle Wickham.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Rick Russell officiating. The interment will be held in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the education fund of Donny Whittle's grandchildren.
