Doral James Witt, age 83, of Eldon, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Brumley on November 16, 1933, son of the late Everett and Tilda (Shelton) Witt. On October 9, 1952, in Harrison, Arkansas, Doral married Shirley Ann Pope, who survives at the home.
In addition to his loving wife, Shirley, he is also survived by six children, Rick Witt and Donna Ping, Diana Distler and husband Paul, Dwane Witt and wife Mary, Karen Maher and husband Tim, Sharon Webb and husband Ron, and Brian Witt and wife Helen; 12 grandchildren, Michael Distler and wife Amy, Brandon Distler, Megan Robydek and husband James, Tyler Yows and husband Chris, Cody Maher, Spencer Webb and Cheyenne Gardner, Skylar Webb, Jesse Witt and Jordan Potter, Brittany Witt, Suzan DuBoise and husband Rob, Dustin Witt, and KayLynn Witt; 9 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jylian, Spencer, Kynlee, Wyatt, Kiya, David, Walker, and Aubrey; six brothers and sisters, Iven Witt and wife Joyce, Lois Comer and husband Raymond, Jerry Witt and wife Geneva, Jim Witt and wife Doris, Alan Witt and wife Barb, and Brenda Strickland and husband Jerry.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruth Rodden, Irene McDowell, Grace York, Dean Plemmons, and Nora Rodden; three infant children, Teresa, Sherry, and Steven; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew James.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 p.m., on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Paul Prater will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mt. Union Cemetery.
