Dorothy L. Dewell, age 83, of Iberia, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at the Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, on October 28, 1922, daughter of Harry and Loise (Allison) Daugherty, both deceased. On January 26, 1940, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, she was married to Jerry D. Dewell, who preceded her in death on October 29, 1987.
She was a member of the Iberia VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6167, the Iberia American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 105 and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 49. She attended Iberia First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Dewell and wife, Sally of San Diego, California; and two grandsons, Kenneth Dewell and Dustin Dewell both of San Diego, California.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
