Dorothy Lorene (McCubbin) Woods, known to her family and friends as Lorene, age 91, of Jefferson City, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Adams Street Place in Jefferson City. She was born in Iberia on August 30, 1927, daughter of the late Leonard and Thelma (Forrester) McCubbin.

On February 21, 1948, in Hartsburg, Lorene married Henry F. Woods, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2016.

Lorene worked at Tweedie Shoe Factory in Jefferson City, was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, baking and her flowers. She and Henry spent many enjoyable hours camping and fishing. Lorene was a Christian, baptized as a young adult, and attended the Church of Christ.

She is survived by three brothers, Norman McCubbin of Eugene, Wade McCubbin of Iberia, and Don McCubbin (Loretta) of Iberia; three sisters, Martha Fletcher of Holts Summit, Lora Barlow (Jim) of Iberia, and Darlene Groff (Eugene) of Chillicothe, IL; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by brother, Wayne McCubbin and sister, Eula Rustemeyer.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Wednesday, May 29, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Brian Duncan officiating. Interment will be held in Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia.
