Dorsie Mae Huddleston, age 77, of Brumley, passed away, Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Brumley on March 24, 1931, daughter of Fred and Parthena (Luttrell) Witt. On January 21, 1955, in Iberia, Dorsie married Donald Carroll Huddleston, who survives at the home.
Dorsie was a loving and caring sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was completely and selflessly devoted to her family and her faith.
She is also survived by two sons, Greg and wife Debby of Brumley and David and wife Lisa of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Susan Ladd and husband Tom and Karen Landreth and husband Bob, all of Brumley; two sisters, Daisy Duncan and Delcie Lawson and husband James, all of Brumley; and two sister-in-laws, Gertie Witt and Geraldine Witt, both of Brumley. Dorsie is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Doral Witt and Donnie Witt; and one grandchild, Jessica Landreth.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Charlie Caldwell will officiate. Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery.
