Dwight David Howard, age 65, of Meta, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. He was born in Jefferson City on July 16, 1953, son of the late Claud Howard and Rosa Margaret (Schaffer) May.

He is survived by four children, Stacy Worthington and husband Rick of Wardsville, Erin Conner and husband Daniel of Iberia, Katie Kempker and husband Steve of Meta, and Jacob Howard and wife Makayla of Jefferson City; five grandchildren, Chad, Caleb, Bentley, Madison, and Danielle; one brother, Stanley Davis and wife Janie; four sisters, Janice Kempker, Carolyn McFadden and husband Robert, Pamela Arnold and husband Jim, and Gloria Phillips; one sister-in-law, Leora May; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, James May and brother-in-law, Al Kempker.

Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with Bro. Bob Hamm officiating.   Interment will be held in Southside Cemetery in Meta.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
