Earl Raymond Humphrey, age 95, of Iberia, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at the St. Elizabeth Care Center. He was born in Iberia on February 7, 1912, son of Clyde H. and Effie J. (Atwell) Humphrey. On December 24, 1936, he was married to Ada Janet Wilson, who preceded him in death on January 1, 1971. On September 29, 1976, in Iberia, he was married to Hazel May (Brown) George, who preceded him death on February 2, 1998.
He taught for 37 years at local rural schools and served as principal at Brumley School. He retired from the Waynesville School System at Ft. Leonard Wood. He was a member of the Iberia Masonic Lodge #410 AF and AM and the Iberia First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Glen R. Humphrey and wife, Wanita of Iberia; one grandson, Nicholas R. Humphrey and wife, Hannah of Jefferson City; one sister, Fern H. Pendleton of Iberia; two great-grandchildren, Ada Nicole Humphrey and Max Martin Humphrey; and four stepchildren, Joe George, John George, Elaine Cleland, and Linda Lee.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norman M. Humphrey and Wade R. Humphrey; and one son, Clyde Preston Humphrey.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at the Iberia First Baptist Church. Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m.
