Earl Gene Whittle, age 80, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his home. He was born in Iberia on February 11, 1946, son of the late Farris Earl Whittle and Leona Whittle Keeth.

Earl was notorious for his skill in mechanic work and had a true passion for wheeling and dealing with vehicles of all kinds. Friends and family often marveled at his knack for fixing engines and his enthusiasm for cruising in his classic cars. He honorably served in United States Navy during the Vietnam Era and was awarded numerous medals and awards for his courage and valor.

He loved the camaraderie with his “shop gang” at his shop, Whittle's Garage, spending countless hours with his buddies, sharing stories and laughter. He loved his family and always had a large support group comprised of his family and friends.

He is survived by his sons, Dale Whittle and Phoenix Albertson; daughter, Holli Robinett; grandchildren, Paige Patro and Caleb Robinett; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Baker, Tammy Eidson, and Judy Whittle; and close personal friend, Sharon Brown; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Leona Keeth and her husband Ollie; father, Farris Whittle; brother, Johnny Keeth; sisters, Beverly Hensley and Joyce Whittle.

Earl’s final wishes were to be cremated, and final inurnment will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Iberia VFW or the Disabled American Veterans (DAV.org).

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
