Obituary

Edith Groose, age 88, of Eugene, died Friday, November 4, 2005, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born in Eugene on November 16, 1916, a daughter of the late Parker and Anna (Miller) Henley. On May 16, 1939, in Cole County, she was married to Franklin Groose, who preceded her in death in 1989.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home. She owned and operated area rock quarries and was also a homemaker.

Those who survive her include: One brother, Norman Henley; three nieces, Gwennyth Stewart of Eugene, Jessica Connell and husband Victor of Eugene and Patty Henley of Winchester, Massachusetts; one nephew, Darrell Henley and wife Julie of Eugene; and six great nieces and nephews.

One brother, Roy Henley, also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday November 6, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Mary's Home. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Father Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Garden Cemetery near Eugene.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Spring Garden Cemetery and Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.
