Obituary

Edith Mae Rowden, age 87, of Iberia, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.  She was born in Iberia, on October 21, 1934, daughter of the late Floyd and Minnie (Livingston) Moore.   On January 19, 1951, at Iberia Church of the Nazarene, Edith was united in marriage to Otis Myrl Rowden, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2000.

Edith retired after 34 years of employment as head cook at Iberia R-V School.  She took great pride in preparing meals for the students and knew of any and all dietary restrictions for each child.  She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and school activities.  Edith was a woman of faith and was a devoted member of Iberia Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her son, Vic Rowden and wife Alice of Buffalo; daughter, Janell Keeth of Iberia; daughter-in-law, Marquita Rowden of Argyle; five grandchildren, Justin Rowden, Travis Rowden, Amy Byrd, Zach Keeth, and Shaun Keeth; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Otis, she was also preceded in death by her son, Danny "Toad" Rowden; two sisters, Irene Keeth and Marie Shelton; two grandsons, Daniel Rowden and Greg Rowden; and brother, Jesse Moore.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, November 16, at Iberia Church of the Nazarene with Bob Hamm officiating.  Interment will be held in Madden Cemetery near Iberia.
