Edith Marie Williams, age 91, of Dixon, died Monday, June 11, 2007, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born in Maries County on October 4, 1915, a daughter of the late Elmer and Bertie (Burnham) Blankenship. On January 29, 1938, in Rolla, she was married to Howard Blaine Williams, who preceded her in death on December 14, 1975.
Edith taught school for over 38 years in many local schools and on an Indian Reservation in Nevada. She was a member of Campground Christian Church.
Those who survive her include: One son, Ted Williams of Dixon; one brother, Bill Blankenship of Iberia and two sisters, Nina Pendleton of Dixon and Imogene Wilson of Iberia.
One brother, Clay Blankenship and one sister Lorene Epperson, also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, June 14 with services immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Manuel Seaton will officiate. Interment will be in Wheeler Cemetery near Dixon.
