Edna Mae Blankenship, age 79, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Topeka, Kansas, on March 25, 1938, daughter of the late Clarence and Lavon (Bradfield) Woodard. On June 24, 1956, in Adams, Kansas, Edna married Leroy Blankenship, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2006.
Edna and her husband, Leroy, owned and operated Triangle Well Drilling for 18 years. She was a devoted volunteer and board member at the Iberia Senior Center for many years. Edna was a member of Iberia First Assembly of God and previously attended Iberia Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Linda Hodge of Iberia; special friends, Willie and Yvonne Luttrell of Iberia; her aunt and uncle in Kansas; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Leroy, and parents, Clarence and Lavon Woodard, she was also preceded in death by her half-sister, Barbara.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Saturday, December 30, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Chip Sanders and Bro. Randy Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
