IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward "Ed"
James Crider
June 26, 1950 – September 1, 2018
Edward "Ed" James Crider, age 68, of Vienna, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at his home. Ed was born in Maries County on June 26, 1950, son of the late Willis Edward Crider and Edna Dolores (Branson) Tyree. On January 17, 1969, in Bland, Ed married Joyce Marie Ryerson, who survives at their home.
Ed was a family man who loved his family and his Lord above all things. He shared his faith with all who knew him. He loved to joke and tell stories and it made his day to bring laughter to others. Ed was always willing to help anyone who needed it and never expected anything in return. From an early age Ed's passion was buying, selling and riding horses.
Ed honorably served in the Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the Army he worked in construction for many years and later went on to be a salesman for Tim Taylor until finally becoming a trailer salesman for Cowtown USA. Once Ed retired due to health problems he called himself a "National Equine Relocator". Anyone who knew Ed knows that it was in his blood.
He was involved with Cowboys for Christ and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He attended church at Solid Rock Family Church in Jefferson City.
In addition to his loving wife of 49 years, Joyce Crider, he is also survived by three children, Melissa Zimmer and husband John, Carie Campbell and husband Devin, and James Crider and wife Jessica; and 11 grandchildren, Kelsea Laughlin, Morgan Zimmer, Allison Zimmer, Alex Zimmer, Savannah Campbell, Olivia Campbell, Bella Campbell, Carson Campbell, Hayden Crider, Hannah Crider, and Holdyn Crider.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Michael Crider and John Tyree; and one infant sister.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Wednesday, September 5, at Vienna Christian Life Assembly with Joe Skiles officiating. Interment with military honors will be held in Vienna Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ed Crider Memorial Fund.
