Elaine (Schulenberg) Adams, age 67, of Iberia, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center. She was born in Iowa on May 12, 1939, a daughter of the late Martin and Edna (Koester) Schulenberg. On May 25, 1957, in Schubert, she was married to Loren L. Adams, Jr., who preceded her in death on April 26, 1977.
Elaine and her husband owned and operated Adams Market in downtown Iberia for many years. She was a member of Iberia First Baptist Church.
Those who survive her include: one son, Raymond Adams and wife Jennifer of Dixon; two daughters, Charolette Moore and husband Mike of Iberia and Cheryl McConnell and husband Bryan of Oviedo, Florida; nine grandchildren, Leslie Harrell, Evan Moore, Daniel Baldwin, Christina McConnell, Landon Anderson, Sidney Campbell, Avery Adams, Cody Adams and Tiffany Rowden; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Ardelle Kinkead of Belle and Deloris Drown of Salisbury and one brother, Melvin Schulenberg of Jefferson City.
One sister, Elvera Williams, also preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday with an Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Dixon Nursing and Rehab Center Activities or the American Diabetes Association.
