Elizabeth Maude Hicks, age 90, of St. Elizabeth, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in St. Elizabeth on April 15, 1922, daughter of the late Ed and Lucy (Maylee) Dose. On February 7, 1940, in Iberia, Elizabeth married Guy Hicks, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2003.
Maude worked at Langenberg Hat Factory in St. Elizabeth for many years. She was also a homemaker and loved flowers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Elizabeth.
She is survived by one daughter, Wilma Farrow of St. Elizabeth; one grandson, John Farrow and wife Teresa of Iberia; one granddaughter, Judith Jennings of Iberia; four great-grandchildren, Katie Farrow, Gary Farrow, Jason Cook, and Travis Cook; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Sue Hicks and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, September 5, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Sonny Meyer will officiate. Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery near Iberia.
