Obituary

Ellis Windorf Jarrett, age 78, of Iberia, died Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born near Iberia on June 24, 1928, son of Henry and Flossie (Adams) Jarrett, both deceased. On April 30, 1950, at Hickory Point Baptist Church, he was married to Joyce Lydia Kelsay, who survives at the home.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia where he had always been an active member serving as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Iberia American Legion Post 105. He served for several years on the Iberia School Board and the Hickory Point Cemetery Board. He worked as a poultry farmer all of his life in the Iberia area.

Other survivors include one son, Danny Jarrett and wife, Sharon of Iberia; one daughter, Lisa Limbach and husband, Danny of Iberia; six grandchildren, Heidi Roark, Kayla Piggott, Zach Jarrett, Joshua Burns, Cody Limbach, and Mackenzie Limbach; and one great-grandchild, Dawson Lee Roark.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2006, at Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia. Rev. Dean Waters will officiate. Interment will be in Hickory Point Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
