Elmer Francis "Buddy" Barnhart, age 68, of Iberia, died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Lake Regional Hospital. He was born in Ulman on December 7, 1938, son of Andrew Thomas and Ruth Pauline (Wyrick) Barnhart. His mother survives in Waterville, Washington. On July 10, 1960, in Tuscumbia, he was married to Mary Evelyn Robinett, who survives at the home.
He worked for many years at Stanton Novelty in Lake Ozark and for Tan-Tar-A in Osage Beach until his retirement. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with friends. He was known on the CB as "Billy the Kid."
Other survivors include one son, Larry Barnhart and wife, Wendy of Iberia; five brothers, Bill Barnhart, Johnny Barnhart, Jimmy Barnhart, Leroy Barnhart, and Jerry "Pete" Barnhart all of Eldon; two sisters, Fay Garino of Omak, Washington, and Pamela Sue Coffman of Etterville; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Nikki, and Kurstyn Barnhart.
He was preceded in death by his father; one granddaughter, Taylor Barnhart; and one sister, Peggy Berry.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Tuscumbia.
