Emma Burks, age 89, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Lane, Arkansas, on January 7, 1923, daughter of the late Peter Frances and Cora Brown. On September 4, 1942, in Michigan, Emma married Rolen Malchi Burks, who preceded her in death on December 27, 1989.

She is survived by one son, John Burks and wife Vicky of Tuscumbia; three daughters, Carolyn Woolsey of Independence, Betty Snow of Sedalia, and Georgia Burks of Ashland; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Charles LaChance will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Tuscumbia.
