Eska Hensley, age 92, of Waynesville, formerly of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Life Care Center of Waynesville. She was born in Iberia on July 1, 1916, daughter of the late John C. and Maggie (Sooter) Hensley.

Eska loved embroidering and playing bingo. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in St. Louis and St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City. She later took care of her parents until their death.

Eska is survived by her nieces, Barb Rollins and Jeanette Whittle; and her nephews, Gerald Hensley of Overland Park, Kansas, and Junior Hensley.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Comer Hensley, Arkley Hensley, Wilford Hensley, and Otho Hensley; and three sisters, Lena Scarbough, Gladys Johnson, and Sister Mary Paul.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Union Cemetery near Iberia. Rev. Dennis Nichols will officiate.
