Eva Elizabeth Mace, age 98, of Tuscumbia, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 13, 1907, a daughter of the late Hiram and Sadie Miller. On December 25, 1945, in Eldon, she was married to Vanus Mace who preceded her in death on August 29, 1990.
Eva was a Miller County resident since coming to Missouri in 1945. She was employed at O&R Poultry in Tuscumbia during its operation and was in nursing prior to moving to Tuscumbia. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Tuscumbia. Eva had been a resident at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center for the past several years and had established many beloved friends, including staff members.
Those who survive her include: one daughter, Margie Rickerson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; three sons, Bill Mace of Armstrong, Missouri, Charles McBride and Elmer McBride both of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.
