Evelyn Mae Helton, age 84, of Dixon, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Care Center.  She was born in Hancock on February 11, 1941, daughter of the late Theodore and Ella (Beal) Reischling.  On March 19, 1959, Evelyn was united in marriage to Eugene Helton, who preceded her in death on December 20, 2000.

Evelyn was known for her love of embroidery, crafting beautiful pieces that brought joy to her family and friends.  Evelyn also had a passion for music and enjoyed attending places where singing was a part of the experience. She was a member of Victory Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Paul Helton; daughter, Connie (Gus) Neubert; three grandchildren, Matthew (Kate) Helton, Desi (Tyler) Wrynn, and Cheyenne (Cody) Bryant; numerous step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, Lily Helton, Trenton Helton, and Sawyer Helton; brother-in-law, Jim (Mae) Helton; niece, Alice (Randy) Wiles and their children, Jimmy (Courtney) Wiles and Julie (Tyler) Kincaid; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 12 at Victory Hill Baptist Church near Dixon with Dennis Nichols and Richard Helton officiating.  Interment will be held in Freedom Cemetery near Dixon.
