Evelyn M. Humphrey, age 84, of Meta, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, at Maries Manor in Vienna. She was born in Meta on July 2, 1925, daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret (Singer) Radmacher. On February 11, 1956, in St. Louis, Evelyn married J.W. Humphrey, who survives at the home.

She is one of the last surviving original residence of Meta and she worked at Langenberg Hat Factory for 33 years until her retirement. Evelyn was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.

She is also survived by one son, James R. Humphrey and wife Donna of Dixon; four grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Jones and husband Justin of Windsor, James Aaron Humphrey and wife Michelle of Wardsville, Ashley Jean Humphrey of Dixon, and Jared Adam Humphrey and friend Sarah French of Dixon; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy Jones and Ace Helton; one brother, Ted Radmacher; and one sister, Mary Lou Gordon.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta. Rev. Mark Porterfield will officiate. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Meta.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., on Sunday, June 6, at the church.
