Everett Dake Jr., age 85, of Iberia, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born in St. Anthony on November 18, 1924, son of Everett Sr. and Kathryn (McNolly) Dake. On January 3, 1948, in Tuscumbia, he was married to Camilla Jane Patterson who survives at the home.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. He proudly served in the United States, Japan, the Philippines, Korea, and Morocco retiring after 23 years as a Master Sergeant. He loved gardening and bowling. He was a member of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and the Iberia American Legion Post 105. He was a faithful member of the Mt. View Church of Christ near Iberia where he served as treasurer for many years. He was currently a member of the Iberia Church of Christ.

Other survivors include one son, David Dake of Crocker; one daughter, Melayne Dameron of Lebanon; four grandsons; three granddaughters; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Woodrow Dake and Raymond Dake.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Louis Garbi will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
