Farris V. Ash, age 76, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at his home. He was born in Brumley on October 22, 1938, son of the late William and Louisa Jane (Robinett) Ash. On May 8, 1961, in Versailles, Farris married Patricia Beard, who survives at the home.
Farris was a 1957 graduate of Tuscumbia High School. He was a life-long farmer and retired from the Labors Local Union 662. Farris was a member, former song leader, teacher and Elder at the Rodden Church of Christ.
In addition to his loving wife, Patricia Ash, he is survived by three children, Mary Bungart and husband Clem of Eldon, Tim Ash and wife Jana of Tuscumbia, and Paulette Voss and husband Richard of St. Elizabeth; 11 grandchildren, Tyler Bungart (Megan Johns), Amber Bungart, Nikki Evers, Rob Evers, Brittany King, Colton Keene, Eric King, Quentin King, Kylee Chayne Ash, Ashley Voss, & Emily Voss; and four great-grandchildren, Colton Bungart and Baby Bungart due in October, Bryce Evers, and Jaelyn Evers.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bert Ash, S.B. Ash, and Ernest Ash and two sisters, Lena May Phillips and Thelma Albertson.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, at Boltz Cemetery near Brumley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Eldon Food Pantry (Farris never wanted a child to go hungry), Fair Haven's Children's Home (Strafford) or the benefit for Joyce and Stanley Burton.
