Fern G. Bunch, age 97, of Marion, North Carolina, formerly of Eldon, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Sunrise Rehabilitation and Care Center in Marion. She was born in Warsaw on February 1, 1909, a daughter of Joseph L. and Patsy A. (Smith) Brown. On December 21, 1927, in Tuscumbia, she was married to Peter L. Wry, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1962. In August 1966, in Tampa, Florida, she was married to Thomas W. Bunch, who preceded her in death on January 31, 1994.

She was a homemaker and a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church near Eldon.

Survivors include one daughter, Ruby Nadine Poor and husband Bill of Little Switzerland, North Carolina; three stepsons, David Bunch of Atlanta, Georgia, Victor Bunch of Jacksonville, Texas, and Randall Bunch of Eldon; one grandson, Robert William Poor of Sopchoppy, Florida; and ten
stepgrandchildren.

Her parents; three brothers, Duane, George, and Joe Brown; one sister, Rose Metzger, and one stepdaughter, Carol Clark, also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at Blue Springs Baptist Church near Eldon. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. John Shifflet officiating. Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
