Flora Mae Copeland, age 90, of Iberia, passed away on August 4, 2026, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Miller County on August 1, 1936, the daughter of the late Ray and Dorothy (Dake) Wilson. On July 1, 1953, Flora was united in marriage to William Steadman Copeland, who preceded her in death on December 6, 2009.

Flora Mae was a member of Brays Advent Christian Church. She was a 1954 graduate of Iberia High School. Flora was employed by Empire Gas, the Miller County Clerk’s Office, where she helped with elections, the Pulaski County Health Department, and Walmart. She cherished her daughters and grandchildren. Though Flora Mae was quiet and kind, those who had the honor of knowing her personally knew she was also full of spunk and sass. She will be remembered for her sweet smile and beautiful blue eyes. She was generous and always willing to give the bracelet off her wrist or shirt off her back. Flora Mae was creative and used her talents to make quilts, paintings, and short stories. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling, eating her brother Bill’s famous fish, going to yard sales with anyone she could drag with her, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Above all, Flora Mae’s greatest accomplishment in life was teaching her family about the Lord and giving them the comforting knowledge that they will see her again one day.

She is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Mike) Long and Jan (Kelly) Hammack; five grandchildren, Randi Rowden, Seth (Michelle) Schuster, Dylan (Destiney) Apperson, Riley Hammack, and Kelsey (Dalton) Moore; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill (JoAnn) Wilson; one sister-in-law, Marie Wilson; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Dorothy Wilson; her husband, William Copeland; one brother, Vernia Wilson; and two sisters, Ida Irwin and Ruth Dake.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with a memorial service immediately following at 12 (noon), on Saturday August 8 2026, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia, with Ron Orr officiating. Inurnment will be held in Stokes Cemetery near Meta.
