Floyd A. Blankenship, age 66, of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Meyers Town on February 15, 1947, son of Alvis and Mary Evelyn (Yoakum) Blankenship. On August 19, 1967, in New Salem Church in Dixon, Floyd married Judy Wilson, who survives at the home.
Floyd was employed as service manager at Perkins Chevrolet in Iberia for 25 years and worked as a mail route substitute mail carrier for 9 years. He also owned and operated B&W Service Station in Iberia. Floyd was an avid hunter and enjoyed working on the family farm in Iberia with his wife and son.
Floyd was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Dixon.
He is also survived by his mother, Mary Blankenship of Dixon; one son, Kyle Blankenship and wife Amber of Iberia; two grandsons, Easton Blankenship and Brady Blankenship; and one brother, William "Pete" Blankenship of Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvis Blankenship and one brother, Ronald Robert Blankenship.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Charlie Pentecost and Bro. Louis Dunlap will officiate. Interment will be in Wheeler Cemetery near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at the funeral home.
