Frances "Fran" Russell, age 82, of Iberia, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born in Kirkwood on June 4, 1927, daughter of the late Louis and Lena (Shackleford) Kimker. On June 25, 1949, in Kirkwood, Fran married Jennings Otho Russell, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1986.

She worked at Iberia High School for over 30 years as the superintendent's secretary. She also volunteered at the Heartland Regional Library in Iberia and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Fran was also a member of Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia since 1968.

She is survived by two sons, Dan Russell and wife Wanda of Iberia and Tim Russell and wife Jeanie of Nixa; two daughters, Susan Faseler and husband Steve of Nixa and Janet Wall and husband Edwin of Iberia; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Kimker and wife Claire of Iberia.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Dean Waters will officiate. Interment will be in Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2009, at the funeral home.
