Fred Henry Wieberg, age 96, of St. Anthony, died Sunday, October 22, 2006, at the St. Elizabeth Care Center. He was born in St. Anthony on April 15, 1910, son of Joseph Frank and Wilhelmina (Utrecht) Wieberg.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a carpenter and, with the help of his father and brother, Leo, built many homes and barns in the St. Anthony and Iberia area. He did a lot of volunteer carpenter work through the years for St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, where he was a member.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Marie K. Wieberg of St. Anthony; and 14 nieces and nephews.
His parents; one sister, Freda Wieberg; two brothers, Cornelius and Leo Wieberg; and one niece preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Rev. Francis Stuart, OSB, will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at the St. Anthony Parish Hall with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Anthony Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
