Gabrielle Ann Hamlin, age 58, of Eldon, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in St. Louis on August 8, 1948, a daughter of Roy and Ruth (Gregory) Metcalf. Her mother survives at the home. On September 10, 1998, in Eldon, she was married to Daryl B. Hamlin, who survives at the home.
She loved all things in nature; buzzing bees, budding and blooming plants, sunrises and sunsets. Watching things grow was a passion and included her grandchildren, cocker spaniels and her bountiful garden.
Others who survive her include: six children, James M. Dent and wife Carol and Michele L. Dent and John Sanders all of Palmyra, Eric A. Roland and Jennifer Beyers of Osage Beach, Alicia N. Stanley and husband Paul of Lake Wood, Colorado and Haley K. and Hilary S. Hamlin both of Camdenton; eleven grandchildren, Justin M., James W. and Chloe G. Dent, Tempestt R. and Myles D. Rhoden, Alura R. Johnson, Emily K. and Grace I. Sanders all of Palmyra, Michaela Byers and Maxwell A. Roland both of Osage Beach and Sydney Stanley of Lake Wood, Colorado; four brothers, Gene Gravot and wife Linda of Palmyra, Michael Metcalf and wife Barb of Canyon Lake, Texas, Coy Metcalf and wife Kathy of Bristol, Texas and Roy Metcalf of the home; one sister, Jana Lyden of Eldon and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Metcalf.
A celebration of her life will be held August 26th at 4 p.m. at her home for family and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society are suggested.
