Gary DeWayne Crabtree, age 55, of Maryville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. He was born in Houston, Missouri, on July 29, 1955, son of Billy Howard Crabtree and Ruth (Boulware) Pierce.
He previously employed at Barnes Hospital as the MRI Supervisor. Gary loved all animals especially horses. He had many hobbies; among them were cooking and interior decorating.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Pierce of Granite City, Illinois; one son, Stephen Crabtree of Knoxville, Tennessee; one niece Paula M. Contestcible of Fenton; special friend, Rob Otto; two great nephews; one great niece; and a host of friends and relatives will sadly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Crabtree and one brother, Glen Darrell Crabtree in 1971.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Freddie Earp will officiate. Interment will be in Seaton Cemetery near Dixon.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gary Crabtree Memorial Fund.
